Saint Francis Hospice will be lighting up the lives of loved ones this winter. The annual commemoration will be held at the hospice, and in three other local locations. Light Up a Life is an opportunity to collectively celebrate your loved ones and to share the support of the hospice.

In addition to the remembrance services, the Saint Francis runs an annual appeal to raise vital funds to support people and their families at the hospice and at home. As part of this year's Light Up a Life appeal David Game has kindly shared his experience of attending Light Up a Life services in memory of his beloved mum Janice. During Janice’s last days, she received personal care at Saint Francis Hospice. The staff were always on hand to check she was comfortable and free from pain.

Janice passed away after a relatively short battle against bile duct cancer, on 23 July last year, surrounded by loved ones. For people like David, Light Up a Life services are a chance to remember a loved one, during a time of year that is difficult for so many. David has shared with us:

“I remember last years’ service well. I entered the solitude of the church and left my busy life outside. I was focused on one person - mum. For the next 45 minutes I thought of her and the happy times we’d spent together”.

You are invited to attend a Light Up a Life service to celebrate your loved one. It’s a special opportunity for people of all faiths or none to come together and share precious memories.
