West Ham United players made a special visit to Saint Francis Hospice
West Ham United players made a special visit to bring Christmas cheer to people on the ward at Saint Francis Hospice.
Four players from the men’s first team: Lukasz Fabianski, Wes Foderingham, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Crysencio Summerville and four players from the women's team: Viviane Asseyi, Manuela Paví, Riko Ueki and Emma Harries, popped into the hospice on Wednesday 18th December.
They spent time chatting with people currently receiving care, delivering gifts, posing for photos and signing West Ham United memorabilia.
The players also chatted with staff and volunteers.
“The festive period is often a very difficult time for people who are seriously ill and it was so wonderful the players took time to chat with people and lift their spirits,” said Andy Furneaux from the fundraising team.
“There were lots of West Ham United fans on the ward and they were thrilled to chat with their heroes."
“We know how much West Ham United values its community and it was clear from the players compassion and kindness that they were interested in learning about how the hospice cares for people with illnesses that cannot be cured and the wide range of support available to people and their families."
“Thank you very much to everyone at West Ham United for making the visit possible and making everyone’s day.”
