Hospice calls on community to Go Orange this summer

We're calling on our local community to Go Orange this summer and help bring the love and care of the Hospice to people and families when they need it.

The charity's brand colour orange is well known across its catchment areas of Havering, Barking and Dagenham, Redbridge, Brentwood, and West Essex.

And on Friday 2nd July, it is asking schools, businesses, families, and friends to Go Orange by taking part in a fundraising activity to help raise vital funds for local people who are affected by life-limiting conditions.

"'We are so excited to be turning our community Orange on 2nd July," said Sean Erwood, Chief Orange Officer with the Hospice's fundraising team.

"So many people know us for our orange colours, so we want everyone to join us in raising funds for the Hospice and the patients and families who need us.

"We have heard about so many amazing events going on already, and we know our supporters are so creative so we can't wait to see what everyone gets up to for the day.'

Drapers Academy excited to Go Orange

We're thrilled staff and pupils at Drapers' Academy in Harold Hill have already signed up and will Go Orange by inviting pupils to wear an orange item and donate a £1.

'Drapers' Academy is proud to be 'Going Orange' for Saint Francis Hospice this July," said the school's Principal Darren Luckhurst.
"The Hospice is so important to our local community and has supported so many of our families over the years.

"We are excited to be participating in this amazing day!'

How you can support

Here are just some of the ways you could support your local Hospice and Go Orange

• Arrange an 'orange' dress down day at work, this could be in person or virtual
• Arrange a raffle or prize giving where the prizes are orange themed
• Host a bake sale with orange coloured cakes and bakes
• Or use 'Go Orange' as a reason to take part in your own fundraising challenge!
