Mission Mud challenge raises more than £11,000 for hospice care

Thrill seeking supporters came together for a 5k muddy obstacle adventure, raising more than £11,000 for local people who need the care and support of their local hospice.

Saint Francis Hospice's Mission Mud challenge took place at Nuclear Races in Kelvedon Hatch, Brentwood on Sunday, 10th October and teams of brave participants ran, climbed, waded through water, zip wired and took on the infamous death slide.
Dan Fage, and a group of seven friends from a Hornchurch gym, raised an incredible £4,000 for the charity.

"We have all been touched by the compassion and humility of Saint Francis Hospice's staff through our own personal experiences and found this opportunity to give something back to this fantastic organisation a no brainer," said Dan.

"We didn't know what to expect from a course perspective, however, through the organisation of this event, it was clear just how professionally driven this event would be.

"We all thoroughly enjoyed the event - The camaraderie between groups and individuals was paramount in making this a thoroughly enjoyable and memorable event.

"We are very grateful to all who have shown their support for this fundraising run. The money we have raised will help Saint Francis Hospice to continue to be there for those who need it."
