When it comes to truly making a difference to local people who need hospice care, SEIB Insurance Brokers are not afraid to get stuck in!

And so far, their amazing team effort has raised an incredible £40,500.

On Sunday, October 10, four adventurous employees took on Saint Francis Hospice's 5k Mission Mud obstacle challenge at the Wild Forest in Kelvedon and enjoyed the thrill of getting seriously wet and muddy.

"Saint Francis Hospice is special to so many people and for so many different reasons, and it's incredibly important to us as a company to support the wonderful work they do," said Katie Oswald, Digital Marketing Manager at SEIB.

"The SEIB team had the best time taking part in Mission Mud, in particular watching each other get stuck in the mud, crawl and whizz down the zip line towards the end!

"It was great for us to get together after so much time apart over the last 18 months, and it's good to know that we can still work as a team to overcome obstacles.

"The sprint up towards the finish line was tough, but we all felt a huge sense of accomplishment and relief to finally get a hot shower and a cup of tea."

The company has been a huge supporter of the Hospice in Havering-atte-Bower for many years and this was its latest fundraising effort.

Last month, SEIB's Financial Director Bipin Thaker presented the Hospice with an £8,000 donation in memory of former colleague Steve Reynolds who died earlier this year.

The money will go towards the purchase of a new van to help the charity's retail team deliver preloved goods to its shops across its catchment areas.

"Steve was a talented guitar player and kind individual, giving his time to raise money for various charities," said Lena Quilley, Compliance Manager at SEIB.

"However, Saint Francis Hospice held a special place in Steve's heart. All of us at SEIB miss him and will never forget him.

"Steve's passing has left a personal and professional void but, we have many happy memories of Steve that will stay with us."

In his memory, the team also undertook a virtual challenge of walking to Paris back in March 2021 and raised over £2,500.
